Acupuncture is a gentle, time-tested therapy that uses fine needles to stimulate specific points in the body, promoting blood flow, reducing inflammation, and triggering natural pain relief. Commonly used to treat pain, anxiety, and allergies in pets, it’s a safe and holistic option—though not suitable for cancerous tumours. Each 30-minute session costs £52.80 and may be covered by insurance. Treatment typically begins with weekly sessions, gradually tapering to monthly maintenance, tailored to your pet’s individual needs.
We have recently invested in a mobile digital dental x-ray unit, that allows us to easily image animals mouth. This helps minimise anaesthetic time and having to transport animals about the practice while under anaesthetic. This helps diagnose dental problems that cannot be seen to the naked eye but can cause severe dental pain. Cats are especially prone to such issues which is why we include full mouth radiographs with all our cat dental procedures.
At Swaffham Vets, we are proud to be an International Cat Care (iCatCare) accredited Gold Standard Cat Friendly Clinic, a recognition that reflects our commitment to providing the very best care for our feline patients.
